A grade 4 report card where the teacher wrote "James likes to read aloud" was likely the origin of what would become a career of using his voice. By the Time he was in grade 7 he was doing play by play at the ball diamond during recess for sweep and scrub softball games. Before finishing high school he was working at a local radio station in his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, ON.
Despite being told that people like sportscasters more than newscasters, James was behind the mic doing radio news, then television, combining on-air with writing, production and managerial roles at various Canadian broadcasting companies.
He lives within an hour of Canada's largest city, Toronto; he loves to read, travel and spend quality time at home with wife Tracy and Abbey the cat. They also enjoy spending time with their grown-up kids and two adorable grandsons.
